I was walking outside my house today with my camera, searching for something to shoot. So I came to these trees and examined the leaves, when I suddenly saw this black-dotted-miniature-dinasour-egg-like thing hanging on a single thread of web from one of the leaves. Of course I was intruiged. Any of you seen this before? Is it a cocoon of a butterfly? It's very small, smaller than a penny. Anyways, I had to take a picture of this, so I did. Full view to see the little web this egg thing is hanging from. Alritey, enjoy!
A gazillion thank yous to *saciii on her advice about the orientation of the photo (maybe it would look good if you took the photo vertically, so that it would emphasize the feeling of the little egg thing just hanging there, all fragile and stuff...). This was originally shot vertical but I cropped it, however I tried what she suggested, I totally agree, so this is the original uncropped version. So much bettah. Thank you dear.
don't take this bad, but, wouldn't it look better if you had made a little more clear the detail of the bitten leaf (I don't know how to write it... leaves... leaf? T_T)
the idea of making this a vertical shoot was a good idea... the little egg seems more important.
again, I think the blue makes it serious... and what you said on the descritpion makes me think of "How many beautiful things do I see when I'm leaving home, or inside my home?"
I think this goes beyond a simple picture... it's a silent scream that asks for us to be more sensitive in some way, to take care of the things that really deserve our attention...
Pretty wonderful I really hesitated looking closer at this piece because I thought maybe it was some kind of visual trick. I should have known better. It's wonderful and more intriguing than I could have imagined. I do like this uncropped version.
I'd watch out if I was you.
